If you have been in a car wreck, dental implants can restore the teeth you have lost.  There are other types of accidents that can cause tooth loss, including sports injuries.  Whatever the reason, we can give you back the look and feel of your natural teeth.  This is a permanent solution for all of your tooth loss problems. It is actually fairly common for people to lose teeth.  Accidents alone can account for adults needing to have teeth replaced.  Wresting with your friend, playing baseball, running into something – there is no end to how many accidents can happen and the tooth loss that can occur from it.  If you are accident free, old age may cause teeth to fall out.  This is uncomfortable, can impact your speech and appearance.  The good news is that you are not alone, and there is a solution. Dental implants are the key to fixing your teeth.  You don’t have to wear dentures or go with a hole in your mouth when implants are available and such a practical option.  We can give you your smile and your life back through this dental procedure.  It is surgical and takes six month to a year to complete, but this is entirely worth it to have a permanent tooth back. Here is how the process works.

  1. Schedule a consultation and evaluation. This solution may not work for everyone. In order to determine if you are a candidate, you need to schedule a consultation. We will examine the health of your teeth and gums to determine the viability.
  2. Correct any oral health issues. If we identify any cavities, tooth decay, or gum disease we will create a treatment plan and work with you to correct these issues before starting the procedure.
  3. Have your teeth whitened. Your new, synthetic teeth will be made to match your existing ones. Whitening your teeth now will brighten them by up to eight shades and give you a glowing smile. When your new tooth is implanted, it will be a perfect white match to your new bright smile.
  4. Oral surgery. A metal piece is implanted under the gum line and attached to your jawbone. This will serve as a synthetic root system. It has to fuse to your jawbone which can take a couple of months. The timing is based on how your body responds so it could be faster.
  5. Metal piece. Once the fusing has completed, a second metal piece is attached at the surface of your gum.
  6. New tooth. Your new tooth, or teeth, will be created in a lab to match your existing ones. When they are installed the dentist attaches your new tooth to the metal piece at the surface of your gum line.
This process of dental implants is three steps and can be completed in a couple of months to a year, depending on how your body responds. During that time, you can wear a temporary tooth so that no one will know you are missing one. Call us today and experience how implants can change your smile.
